Leveling Up: How Ariana Increased Her Income Significantly and Is Building a Future in Healthcare

When Ariana walked into the Level Up program in October 2023, she was seeking more than just a job—she was looking for a path forward. With the support of United Way Northwest Indiana and a drive to succeed, she found exactly that.

Ariana enrolled in Phlebotomy Technician training through Medical Career Academy. With dedication and hard work, she earned her NHA Phlebotomy Technician certification, a credential that opened new doors. Shortly after completing her training, she was offered a full-time position as a mobile phlebotomist, leading to a significant annual income increase.

But Ariana’s ambition doesn’t stop there.

She’s now preparing to attend Ivy Tech Community College full-time this fall to pursue an associate’s degree—funded entirely by grant assistance made possible through Level Up. Her long-term goal is to become a surgical technician, further advancing her career in the medical field.

Throughout her journey, Ariana has shown resilience, determination, and exceptional communication with her Level Up navigator. Her story is a testament to what’s possible when individuals are supported by programs that invest in their potential.
